You may have noticed that LED masks can have vastly different price tags, selling upwards of $700 while others cost less around $75.
The natural assumption is the more expensive, the better the mask.
Not necessarily true, the reality is LED therapy is all about the wavelengths not the branding, so regardless of the price it's the technology that matters. If an LED delivers the appropriate wavelengths at the right intensity it has the potential to provide just as effective results as the higher end models.
So what are you really paying for?
Often, it's the advertising, celeb endorsements, the packaging and sometimes extra features such as flexible silicone, the ability to pair with a smartphone, longer warranty periods or a more aesthetically pleasing design. All of those things may improve the overall visuals of the experience but they do not automatically make the light itself more effective.
The biggest factor in getting results is not the big price tag on the mask, it is whether you actually use it. Like any skincare routine consistency (I know, I know - I keep saying "consistency" but it's true) is what brings the results, using your mask three to four times a week will give you a better result as opposed to leaving it on a shelf collecting dust, that's not rocket science.
What you should be looking at is does the mask have the correct wavelengths, is it comfortable and does it fit your budget. A well designed affordable mask can be just as good an option, rather than an uncomfortable pricey one that you rarely ever use.
