Life Isn't Waiting For You, It's Happening Right Now

There comes a point in your life when you stop measuring your success by what you own, where you work or how busy you are. You begin measuring it by something much simpler.

How many sunrises or sunsets did you stop and watch.

How often have you laughed until your face hurt.

Have you told people that you love them.

Have you truly been living or are you constantly waiting for "one day"

Life has ways of changing us. Sometimes it's through moments of joy but more often than not it's through the moments we never saw coming. The moments that made us question everything we thought mattered.

I've learnt tomorrow is never guaranteed. Not because I'm a pessimist, but because life has shown me that in ways I could never have imagined.

I've watched people I love face unimaginable challenges. I've experienced heartbreak, uncertainty, fear, anxiety and moments where the future felt beyond my control.

These experiences  haven't made me bitter, they've made me grateful.

Grateful for the ordinary mornings. Coffee on the patio, my dogs waiting excitedly at the door, a walk along the beach, a phone call, for the quiet moments that once seemed insignificant.

It's funny how the little things can become the big things. We spend so much of our lives chasing milestones, but life doesn't begin when everything is perfect.

Life is happening right now, today in this moment.

Often we wear busyness like a badge, forgetting our bodies, minds and hearts need care. Looking after yourself isn't selfish, it is essential. It's an investment in the life you are living.

I have also learnt that resilience is not about pretending everything is okay, more about finding beauty in something even when it feels heavy.

Some of the happiest people I know have had the hardest roads to walk, yet they have simply chosen to appreciate what they have instead of what they have lost.

If there's one take-away I'd love everyone reading this to remember, it is this:

Don't wait, take the holiday, make the phone call, start the business, watch the sunrise, laugh, cry when you need to, dance in your kitchen, buy the flowers.

Celebrate all those ordinary days because one day you will realise they were the extraordinary ones. None of us knows how many chapters we have left, find joy in the simple things.

Make today beautiful.
