Ingredients
- Rice paper: 2 sheets per burger
- Beef: 1 cup of pre-cooked ground beef mince (seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika)
- Cheese: Cheese slices or shredded mozzarella/cheddar
- Add-ins: Finely diced pickles, finely diced onions
- Coating/Bind: 1 to 2 whisked eggs (for dipping) and sesame seeds for the top
- Burger sauce
Method
- Cook your ground beef in a pan with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until fully browned, then let it cool slightly.
- Whisk your eggs in a shallow dish.
- Dip two sheets of rice paper (stacked together for strength) into the egg wash until soft and pliable
- Press the egg-dipped rice paper into a small bowl or ramekin. Layer a slice of cheese, the cooked beef patty or mince, onions, pickles, and another slice of cheese. Fold the edges of the rice paper tightly over the top to seal.
- Lay the rice paper flat, place the beef, cheese, onions, and pickles along the lower third, fold in the sides, and roll tightly
- Flip the parcel out seam-side down onto a baking sheet, air fryer basket, or pan.
- Brush the top lightly with extra egg wash or oil, and sprinkle with sesame seeds
- Cook at 190°C–200°C (375°F–400°F) for 8 to 15 minutes (or 10 to 12 minutes in an oven on a wire rack), flipping halfway if needed, until golden and crunchy.
